OMG Perio is a specialty periodontal practice located in the heart of downtown Hamilton and the Mississauga medical district. Both offices have abundant free parking and are easily accessible by city transit and major highways.

The practices focuse on the placement of dental implants, periodontal treatment and oral medicine.

Our modern facilities and experienced speciality teams provide patients with efficient, empathetic and state-of-the art treatment. Three different implant systems are supported. We facilitate all insurance claims and our offices are fully accessible.

Cyclosporin A, a drug that is used for preventing rejection of organ transplants, can cause very serious overgrowth and disfigurement of the gum tissues. Bacterial infections of the gum tissues are important and highly prevalent. One of the causes of these infections may be related to chemicals produced by bacteria that are similar to the breakdown products of sugar that occurs in diabetes. In this study we found that the diabetes product named methylglyoxal is found in gum pockets and has a large effect on the main proteins making up the gum tissues. Treatments to control inflammation are essential for many common human diseases, including gum infections. Drugs that block chemicals that cause inflammation can improve the pain and function of many patients afflicted by diseases such rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory diseases like gum diseases.
