Periodontal Care for Adults
Adults are prone to periodontitis, an infection of the gums that leads to bone loss around the teeth and tooth loss. About 7% of the adult populations exhibits advanced periodontitis while 30% exhibit early to moderate periodontitis. Because of this high prevalence and the progressive nature of these infections, without early treatment, tooth loss is likely. Therefore, early diagnoses and clinical management of periodontitis in adults is important from a preventative standpoint.
